As a frequent Blockbuster customer, I will say that I greatly appreciated the elimination of late fees. Although they're not gone entirely, in that if you keep the movie past a second "rental period" and fail to return it within 30 days, they bill your credit card for the movie. If you return it within 30 days, they charge you a $1.25 per movie "restocking fee". This is much bettern than the old system, but a bit of an obfuscation by Blockbuster.

On the whole, I loved NetFlix, but found that I was still renting movies regularly because I didn't want to wait three days for the movie I wanted to get to me by mail. For anyone with a Tivo, you can download movies from Amazon using Amazon Unbox. Their selection (which I will say I haven't checked lately) is nowhere near that of Blockbuster or NetFlix, but odds are that they have the new movie you want to see.
